Event Recap: Creative Art in Young Adults – Healing Through Creativity

On April 18th, 2025, LIZ, in collaboration with Put A Smile (2nd Edition), successfully hosted a vibrant and heartwarming event titled Creative Art in Young Adults (Healing Technique) in Port Harcourt.

Held at Ijilolu Close, off Elekahia Road, the event brought together young adults from all walks of life to explore the power of art as a tool for healing, expression, and connection.

A Day of Color, Creativity, and Community

From the moment the event kicked off, the atmosphere was charged with positive energy and artistic expression. Attendees immersed themselves in various creative activities including:

  • 🖍 Coloring
  • 📝 Poetry
  • 🎶 Music
  • 💃 Dancing

Each session was designed to be therapeutic and engaging, helping participants not just create, but connect—with themselves and with others.

Led by Elizabeth Charles-Dede, the Artistic/Creative Director, the event served as a safe and vibrant space for young people to express their emotions and discover new aspects of themselves through art. Elizabeth’s warmth, expertise, and passion shone through every segment, making the day not just fun but deeply meaningful.
